Circumcision is a recommended practice in Islam according to the Sunnah. The primary intention behind Islamic circumcision is to follow the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), who was circumcised and recommended it for his followers. It is also believed to promote cleanliness and hygiene. It is performed when a believer reverts to Islam.
In some cultures, circumcision is the norm for boys. It is seen as a way to mark a boy's passage into adulthood and to fit in with the social norms of his community.
Circumcision is performed for severe tightness of the foreskin (Phimosis) Circumcision is thought to reduce the risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs), penile cancer, and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). However, the evidence for these benefits is not conclusive.
Some choose to circumcise for personal reasons, such as their own personal preference or because they believe that it is cleaner or more hygienic.

The benefits and risks of circumcision are "balanced" and that the decision of whether or not to circumcise is a personal one that should be made after discussing the pros and cons.
Tight foreskin that does not retract fully, causing discomfort or small tears.
Repeated redness, swelling, soreness or infections under the foreskin.
Discomfort that interferes with intimacy or everyday comfort

Do not ignore these symptoms – early assessment and treatment can prevent worsening problems. Stapler circumcision offers a fast, reliable solution for many men.
Also referred to as sleeve resection, free hand, forceps guided
Description: The surgeon uses a scalpel or scissors to remove the foreskin, then closes the wound with dissolvable stitches or surgical glue. This is the classic "open" method widely used in UK private clinics.
Highly customisable; no special devices needed; long-established technique
Disadvantages: Longer procedure (30–60 minutes); more bleeding; higher postoperative swelling/pain; stitches can cause more discomfort during healing; recovery often 2–4 weeks for full activity.
Description: A single-use medical stapler device simultaneously cuts the foreskin and applies staples (or a ring in some variants) to close the wound neatly. No hand suturing required.
Advantages: Very quick (5–15 minutes); minimal blood loss; less pain/swelling; lower complication rates (0.4–2.5% vs 2–10% for traditional); excellent uniform cosmetic results; faster return to light activities (often days). Staples detach naturally or are minimal.
Disadvantages: Small risk of device-related issues (rare, can convert to traditional if needed); temporary staples may cause mild sensation for a few weeks.
Best for: Most adults seeking minimal downtime, reduced pain, and neat appearance. Supported by studies showing better outcomes than conventional methods.
For most adult patients, stapler circumcision offers the best balance of safety, comfort, speed, and results – with evidence from clinical trials showing shorter operative time, less pain, and higher satisfaction. We’ll assess which is most suitable for you during your consultation.
Performed efficiently under local anaesthesia
The stapler device seals and cuts precisely
Most men resume light activities within days.

Stapler technique consistently shows lower complication rates and higher patient satisfaction compared to traditional open methods
